According to the Machinery Directive, machines and equipment must be provided with a device to stop it in an emergency. norelem offers a wide variety of emergency stop buttons that ensure safe shutdown in various facility environments. Mechanical position switches are equally important for the safe operation of equipment. norelem has now added these to its range.
Mechanical position switches
Mechanical position switches can be found in almost all fields of machine and plant construction and in conveyance technology. Typical applications include end position monitoring of components, position detection on doors and roller shutters and object detection in conveyor technology. Position switches consist of two units: a base unit and an actuator. The base unit is equipped with a hinged and captive housing cover. This cover can be flipped open with a screwdriver and closed again without tools. An M20x1.5 aperture is provided to pass the wires through. The wires are connected with screw terminals. The base unit is equipped with a thrust pin actuator. Depending on the approach situation, this can be replaced as required. The acuators are available in various designs.
The position switches from norelem are available with a rating up to IP67. The forced break contacts, guarantee reliable operation.
Emergency stop button
Emergency stop buttons from norelem are used to manually switch off machines and systems quickly in emergencies. They are tamper-proof and are easily recognisable through standard-compliant red mushroom buttons on a yellow background. To prevent accidental actuation, the button must be pushed in with considerable force. The emergency stop buttons are unlocked again by twisting them to the right or left. All buttons are available with an anti-blocking collar.
The components comply with DIN EN ISO 13850 and offer a long service life of at least 50,000 switching cycles. They have a rating if up to IP67, depending on the version. For increased safety, the emergency stop buttons are equipped with two NC contacts. norelem also offers self-monitoring variants with an additional NO contact.
The emergency stop buttons are available for installing in openings of diameter 16.2 mm and 22.3 mm, or in housings as surface-mounted versions. The Minibox is especially suitable for aluminum profiles - a slender, ready-to-install, fully equipped housing with emergency stop button.
